The man did not react at all to Kendall’s question. His tall, broad body was hunched like an ostrich, and he was still trembling slightly, his condition seemingly not very good. Kendall gripped the handrail and leaned her back against the computer bag she had been carrying behind her. She was momentarily stunned, suddenly remembering that she had also packed a small night light from the bedside table when she was getting her things together. Kendall turned and took out the night light out of the bag. The night light was a glass orb about the size of her palm....
